EGEA is divided into four regions, namely the North and Baltic Region, the Eastern Region, the Western Region and the EuroMed Region. Each region elects a representative to the «Board of Executives».

The entities of the regions try to keep contact throughout the year. One way of achieving this is by Regional Congresses, which take place in springtime and are usually focussed on one geographical theme.

All entities meet once a year at the annual Congress. This Congress takes place in autumns and is the main event of the EGEA-year. During 5 days different topics are discussed in workshops and at least one excursion is organised to get an impression of the host country.

In 2004 EGEA-Utrecht will organise the Annual Congress of the European Geography Association for students and young geographers.The congress will take place from October the 10th till the 15th in Baarlo (Limburg), the Netherlands and at the Utrecht University.

EGEA-Utrecht is looking forward to welcome geography students and young researchers from all over Europe to share and discuss geographical knowledge, to get to know each other and to party!
The theme of the congress is water. This theme will be explored in workshops, excursions and lectures. The goal is to make a connection from different fields of geography to this theme.
In a separate program, attention will be paid to European integration and identity. Participants will choose in advance if they would like to join the seminar about Europe or the congress about water.
